The first time I have been for years. I couldn't believe how many people camped out. Perfect weather for it I know, but what a massive event. A real mix of cars, air cooled well and truly out numbered in the car park. A few more years and they'll have to change the name to the Tatoo'd Water Cooled Music Fest. Not much of a ring to it The flat 4 drag cars were fantastic and the rocket car is always good fun. I only went on the Sunday but stayed all day. The show cars were a bit lost in it all but a great Karman turnout. I a saw some cars that I recognised buy didn't have a hope catching up with the owners in the crowds. Got some pics, of course.
Got some good pics of the road. Some of those cars were bloody quick |

These are both watercooled. 3500cc Supercharged Rover V8 on the left and 2000cc Subaru Turbo on the right.
Depending on how late you stayed you may also have seen a little Atlas Grey MK2 GTi win VW Sporstman |

Thanks Chris. I'll prob stick to the smaller events in future, it was good, but like you growing out of your camper, I think that I'm past it. The North Weald airfield is s good little meet, as is dubs in the park. Both way too far away from you though mate.
My car hasn't changed since the Lincoln meet. I bought some big red VW stickers for the door cards, (break up all the cream). And a very nice Ghia T shirt.
Hi Russ74ghia
I like the idea of a Subaru engine but being totally non mechanically minded I dont want to complicate things more that the good old simple 1500 single port.
I missed the Gti too. 9 yr old daughter patience threshold reached at 4pm.
The ghia was so quick or my photography so dodgy, that I only managed to get a picture of the roof. What was that running? |

I guess you're talking about the light metallic blue coupe.
It belongs to a chap called Terry Howell from Stoke, IIRC it's a 2110 Turbo and ran 13.7059 @ 97.13mph |

No, I think we got out about 8pm, what a relief. We did what we did to search, but in the end felt so helpless. |
