Cheerleading Explained

Cheerleading is about a lot more than just waving pom-poms!

It’s an intense mix of dance and gymnastics where teamwork is as important as the skills of the individual. Add to this the pumping music and the atmosphere on match days and you have a truly unique, adrenaline-packed sport.

Cheerleading in the UK is booming, and the British Cheerleading Association has grown to over 300 squads and organise competitions all over the country each year.

Details	The Plymouth Blaze is the University Cheerleading squad. Supporting the Blitz and travelling to Tournaments ensures they have an action-packed schedule. Training is Thursday nights and Sunday afternoons at The Mayflower Centre		Following the Admirals is the Plymouth Dynamite cheerleading squad. Established in 2004, they welcome anyone to join in their training sessions and take part. They train on Mondays, 6.30pm at Keyham Community Centre, Admiralty Street, Keyham, Plymouth.
