AMERICAN FOOTBALL DEVON is a brand new group that brings together Devon’s American Football teams and their cheerleaders: the Plymouth Admirals, Plymouth Admirals Youth, Plymouth Blitz and the North Devon Dogs flag team. One of our main aims is to involve EVERYBODY linked to American Football, whether it’s as a player, coach, cheerleader, club official, parent or supporter.

Working together, American Football Devon will be striving to boost the sport in our area by raising awareness, increasing numbers and securing much-needed funding and sponsorship.

It’s free to join; all you need to do is fill out the application form. As well as keeping up to date with what’s going on, you’ll be making us stronger by adding to our membership and increasing our numbers. Many people are unaware of how many people are involved in our sport. AFD will be able to show them, but only if you fill in a form!

AFD aims are to develop American Football and Cheerleading in many ways, particularly in the following areas:

Increase the opportunities to take part in American Football by promoting opportunities to become involved in the sport to a diverse audience and supplying equipment needed to take part.

Enhance the level of coaching by providing suitable practise equipment and enabling new and established coaches to attend training courses and achieve relevant qualifications. This will include training specific to children and disabled people.

Raise Awareness of American Football in Devon through organisation of events, media coverage and the presentation of up-to-date information to the general public.

Create an American Football Community to include non-players, parents, coaches, club officials and supporters of Devon’s American Football clubs, together with followers of the sport in general.

Add to the Local Community by demonstrating equity in all events and appointing a local charity to support each year.
